I was pleasantly surprised by this prequel and I'm so glad I read it before diving into the first Hot Boyz series. The author did a wonderful job of securing my attention and creating a realistic interest in the characters she introduced. I was just settling into the story when it left off....I'm more than invested in part 2 and purchased it immediately. I have read one other published work by TL Joy, and for now, she has me captivated with her storylines. I don't remember many grammatical errors. It appears to be well thought out, well written and ambitious. Thanks!! This is a breath of fresh air after many many of the novellas I've read recently.Product details

This was like a mini movie. It was so brutal. It makes me happy that I didn't grow up with parents in the drug world. Great read.
I enjoyed this short story. It grabs your attention at the very beginning and keeps you entertained. The story flows and the characters are easy to follow. A couple of grammatical errors however you are able to move forward. I'm curious enough to read the rest of this story and see how this author progress with his writing.
This prelude was good enough to make you eant more. Let me see what promises Smooth keeps as he rises. Haven't read HotBoyz series yet, but I am intrigued indeed.
I liked this story from start to well, there was no end. In order to find out what happened to the characters you have to get the next book. The author tells a good story. Mr. Joy could have closed out this book's storyline and teased his reading audience with another by including the first chapter of his next book. The story here is just that good and has the makings of a series. I will watch for more from this talented author.
Well, I learned all about Smooth and his background. I wonder what ever happened to Lolita? Although im understanding whats going on now, I feel this story was too short. It could've been added to the last book.
This book was simply amazing! T.L Joy has definitely brought another great page turner into my life!
This book gives you a better insight on how life was for Smooth before the Hot Boys, I love the fact that this book gives realistic situations for those who lived this type of life style! Not sure why people would think it's not realistic sine there is some many young kids today doing this and worst! But anyhoo..... Love this book an author they both deserve more the 5 stars, wish I could give you 10 stars! I can't wait to read more from you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unrealistic and way too short! Therefore, it was just "okay" and so Not what I expected. First of all, how could Smooth be doing business with a drug cartel (his connect), screwing the man's teenage daughter for years, and he not know anything about it? The man is a Mafia drug lord-he knows everything going on in the streets! Then, prior to she & Smooth hooking-up, she kills a girl in broad daylight because she was jealous @ what was goingo on with the chick and Smooth. There were too many different areas like this in the book, that made absolutely no sense! Not my fave-at all.......not looking to purchase the next installment, unless of course it's free. Lol!
